Armaan Malik debuted with the song "Bum Bum Bole" for the film "Taare Zameen Par" at the age of 10 in 2007. Since then, he has established himself as a playback singer, independent singer-songwriter, and has collaborated with various artists. Recently, he performed with Ed Sheeran and Marshmello during their tours in India. Speaking during a visit to Bengaluru, Armaan shared his belief in manifesting dreams into reality, stating his aspirations to win a Grammy, perform at Madison Square Garden, and collaborate with artists like Charlie Puth, Zedd, and Justin Bieber. He emphasized the importance of being prepared for different phases in his musical journey, acknowledging the evolving music industry landscape focusing on creating viral hits over quality songs. Armaan raised concerns about the potential misuse of technology in manipulating voices and emphasized the need for laws to protect artists' rights and maintain the authenticity of music.I find it amusing yet alarming that anyone can utilize my voice and style to create music without proper regulations in place. While AI has its advantages, it is crucial to establish laws to protect the intellectual property rights of artists and prevent technology from diluting the authenticity of music. I believe that traditional elements, such as physical instruments and musicians, should always play a vital role in the music-making process. What is naturally organic should remain unchanged. Collaboration serves as an excellent opportunity to merge different worlds, fans, and styles. Partnering with another artist is thrilling, and the key element is a genuine admiration and attraction towards that artist. I have a few favorite artists whom I would love to collaborate with due to my admiration for their music and a shared creative vision. Collaborations should aim to blend diverse influences, followers, and musical approaches. The essence lies in the shared zeal and respect for each other's work; without it, a collaboration is unlikely to prosper. Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to work with many artists whom I deeply admire. Working with AR Rahman was a personal dream fulfilled, and it has shown me the power of turning aspirations into reality. Today, thanks to the internet, talented individuals from even the most remote areas have the opportunity to showcase their skills and gain widespread recognition. The current landscape in India is ripe for independent music to thrive. As a playback singer, it is essential to be adaptable, much like a chameleon, to suit the vocal requirements of different on-screen personas. This flexibility is necessary to ensure that one's voice complements the character and charisma of the actor portrayed on screen, even if they are older or have distinct qualities compared to the singer. Singing alongside Ed Sheeran was a dream come true for me, as it provided a unique opportunity to collaborate with a talented artist."Collaborating with Ed Sheeran was a humbling experience for me. Despite his widespread fame, Ed Sheeran showed remarkable humility. It's unusual to encounter someone of his stature who remains so connected to the ground. We engaged in wonderful discussions about music, particularly Indian music, and he expressed a desire to work with more Indian artists. Additionally, Ed and I bonded closely, and I now see him as a brother. (Armaan Malik recently delivered a sold-out performance at Bharatiya City in Bengaluru)."
